What Is Guarded in Silence at Masterson’s Bar and Pub ?

The Infamous Masterson’s , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The State of Affairs: Unhygienic and Abandoned
From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that sanitation was not a priority at Masterson’s . The floors were sticky , and a foul smell of stale beer and uncleaned toilets filled the entire pub. Smelling a mixture of ammonia , putrefaction and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The toilet was in even worse condition — spilling over , with a shattered handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human excrement .

Going through other patrons’ reviews and chatting with the community, it seems that the quality of upkeep (or lack thereof) at this so-called establishment is a persistent problem . Many guests have reported witnessing insects darting across the serving surface and traces of mice in the adjoining rooms.
